She went forward in the church today, her feet could not be still.
As publicly she made known to all, she was giving God her will.
As she knelt before the alter, She kept her head bowed low.
Feeling de’ja vu, we all prayed from behind the row.
As the choir sang Just As I Am, over and again.
Several echoes followed, from others loud Amen!
On wobbly legs she arose, and walked back to her seat.
Wipeing away tears that fell upon her flushed pink cheeks.
Wearing long sleeves, to hide self inflicted harm;
Old and fresh needle tracks up and down her arms.
With wavering voice, we could hear her sing.
Trembling hands held high; praising Christ our King.
As service ended, We gave her reassuring hugs.
Hopeing, this time, her desire for God would over come the drugs.
